Fineline Mobile Shelving For Taunton Library

Taunton Library is the Main Library for Somerset and is part of Libraries West, the leading public library consortium in the UK. As part of a project at Taunton Library to re-assign space within the Library building an 1150 linear metre book-stock area was moved to a new facility in Bridgwater. Following a competitive tender process to relocate existing mobile shelving and add new mobile shelving to achieve the required capacity within a reduced footprint a Bridgwater, Rotadex Systems Limited were awarded the contract.

The existing mobile shelving was successfully relocated and reloaded and a new system from the Rotadex Fineline shelving range installed alongside. All shelving bays are 300mm deep from frontto- back and all shelves 1200mm long. All shelves are adjustable on concealed shelf clips and the system was powder coated in RAL 9003, Signal White, to aid the spread of light with the space.

Manufactured in Birmingham, Fineline mobile shelving is supplied with a laminate finished infill floor around the system tracks - levelled to 1:1000 tolerance to ensure smooth operation of the mobile units. The shelving relocation project was all completed on-time and to the agreed budget, ensuring that the Libraries Centre could also move into the new building on time.
